As part of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Designer is a tool for creating any type of graphic design, from logos and invitations to blog banners and social media posts. You may have designed similar elements in software like Canva, Fotor, Figma, or others, but Microsoft Designer is smarter.
What sets Microsoft Designer apart from other design tools is its use of OpenAI's DALL-E 2 technology. This is an AI that allows you to create images and artwork by inputting a text description of what you want. This feature will help you find unique graphics for your project, and the images created using this advanced technology are very realistic.
You can also use your own images and built-in design tools to fully customize your visual effects. With templates, shapes, photos, icons, text styles, and color themes, you can explore different looks and get a precise design that suits your project.
How do I qualify for Microsoft Designer
Since its launch in December 2022, Microsoft Designer has required going through a waiting list to qualify for its use. You can add your email address to the list, and once you're granted access, you'll receive an email with instructions for logging in.
The current preview does not include all of the planned features, but Microsoft sought feedback from those with preview access to improve the tool before it becomes generally available. Microsoft Designer will be available as a free app for Microsoft 365 personal and home users with the option of premium premium features. Microsoft also plans to integrate Designer with Microsoft Edge. We want to help Edge users when designing social media posts and other items for the websites they visit in their Browser.
How to use Microsoft Designer
When you log into Microsoft Designer, you'll see Designer Copilot. This tool helps you create your first vision using AI-generated images, your own images, or a blank canvas.
Just type the visual element you want to create into the input field, such as An Instagram post about my cosmetic product launch on April 1st. Then click Generate, and Microsoft Designer will automatically format your design. You can also click on AI Generate image to generate the element you want.
